Few months ago, Cambodia launched their new Golden visa. It is basically a 10 years visa for 100,000$ US but there are many benefits if you compare to Thailand. It is also called “My 2nd Home” (CM2H) Program, is a residence by investment program that allows foreign nationals to obtain a 10-year renewable visa to live in Cambodia. The program was launched in 2023 by the Cambodian Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the Khmer Home Charity Association (KHCA). It wants to compete with the Elite visa of Thailand, Philippines SIRV and Malaysia 2nd home.
To qualify for the CM2H program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of a country recognized by Cambodia
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a clean criminal record
You make an investment of at least US$100,000 in Cambodia, which can include a 10-year CM2H membership and a property purchase approved by the Ministry of Interior. Half is given for the first Once approved, CM2H visa holders will be able to live, work, and study in Cambodia without any restrictions. They will also be eligible to apply for Cambodian citizenship after five years of residency.
The CM2H program is designed to attract foreign investment and talent to Cambodia. It is also seen as a way to promote tourism and economic growth.
Here are some of the benefits of the Cambodia Golden Visa:
- 10-year renewable visa with no entry or exit restrictions
- Eligibility for Cambodian citizenship after five years of residency
- The ability to live, work, and study in Cambodia without any restrictions
- A relatively low investment requirement compared to other golden visa programs
A beautiful and culturally rich country with a growing economy. Also, 50,000$ is linked to your membership and 50,000$ is linked to an investment. You can buy a property for example, and from what I understand, sell it the next day. So the total cost is more 50,000$ for 10 years than 100,000$. It only started in July 2023.
